Light my fire – A to Z Challenge

I see you everyday, I dream of you everyday.
Why don’t you speak to me? Why do you look away.
Come really, do you really believe that?
I’m not the cold hearted bitch you think I am.
I just have my guard up, it’s high and strong.
Once bitten, twice shy; you’ll just have to try,
Harder and harder each day, till you can crack me up
In splits, and then I’ll say, it’s time you got your way.

But you want me to walk up, and spill my mind to you
I have my emotions in a glass case, in a locker
Stuffed and safe, now put that in a whale, with
Jonah and you’ll know, how scared to death I am
From being vulnerable once more.

Light my fire, light my soul, let me seethe, in love
And despair, let me cling on to your embrace
Light my desire, light my mind, together we combine
Convoluted on this path, of thorns, of petals, but alas
You only came closer, not to spark my passion’s flames
You hurried nearer and nearer, to rob me of my inner fire.
