I’ve been true to myself. I never approach any situation with a practical bent of mind or an elaborate incisive thought process. No no. I always see myself pushed and pulled into situations, riding the waves of emotions and sparking neurons and always the inevitable, destiny. Or so, I’d like to tell myself. I’m becoming a man-child really. Tell me, and I’ll do the opposite; show me and I’ll be struck by a sudden jolt of ‘inspiration’.
So… after much hemming and hawing about how I can ever, ever be able to complete an exhaustive blogging challenge like the A to Z Challenge of April 2016, I’ve decided to give it my best shot. Yessir! It’s officially all-hands-on-deck situation and I’m liking the adrenaline rush. Of course my theme hasn’t been decided, I’ll be amazed even if I have one post scheduled by this weekend, but I suppose I live on this kind of an exhilaration.
As I’ve mentioned time and again, Blogchatter and its merry band of bloggers have been a constant source of support, and inspiration. Till only recently, I had figured blogging to be a rather solitary endeavour, but I was wrong. With this challenge, I hope to launch myself completely into my blog and push myself to write daily. While reading ‘The Age of Reason’ by Jean Paul Satre, I was stumped by a certain phrase – Sunday Writer – used by the character Ivich, and quite like the protagonist Mathieu, I was hurt and troubled by it. It referred to “those petty bourgeois who wrote a short story, or five or six poems, every year to inject a little idealism into their lives. For health reasons.” Ouch. I definitely don’t want to be a ‘Sunday Blogger’.
What will equally be a challenge is the mandatory reading of at least five other blogs. This is yet to become a ritual with me, but a very important one that I must inculcate at the earliest. I’ve been crawling all over the sign up list, first to get an idea of how bloggers set themselves up with themes and ideas, and second, it got way too interesting. There are some hilarious posts out there, and yesterday, the one about ‘Big girls don’t cry, unless they’re waxing their bikini line’, was too much for me to handle. It got me cracking up like a possessed idiot in the middle of work. You can read the post here.
So if you want to know everything about the A to Z Challenge [April 2016], check this link and please check Chandni Moudgil’s blog, the person who got me to tag along. Thanks Chandni!

The one thing that the #AtoZChallenge helps you inculcate is the habit of reading blogs. Once you get into the challenge, you need to read posts, so as to get people to read yours too!
Also, commenting on posts is a great way to connect with like-minded bloggers.
I’m taking up this challenge for the second time.. Last year being the first.
I hope we Blogchatter peeps have some great fun under Chandni’s guidance :)
